Recently, the official WeChat account of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a significant article titled “Equipment Industry Enters a New Stage of High-Quality Development,” providing a comprehensive overview of the remarkable achievements made during China’s 14th Five-Year Plan period as the equipment industry embarks on a new stage of high-quality development. In the section titled “Major National Equipment Achieves Groundbreaking Feats and Innovation Momentum Grows Ever Stronger,” the focus is on “a substantial boost in industrial innovation capability.” The article praises the “large-scale LNG marine valves operating at an ultra-low temperature of -196°C, which have broken through key technologies such as ultra-low-temperature materials and sealing performance, with all performance indicators reaching internationally advanced levels, enabling the large-scale, batch application of these valves on actual LNG vessels.”

LNG marine cryogenic valves are core, critical components that ensure the safe and efficient operation of ships. In recent years, Hudong Zhonghua, as the “chain leader” in the industrial chain, has vigorously supported its subsidiary, Shanghai Hudong Shipbuilding Valve Co., Ltd., in making every effort to achieve domestic production of marine cryogenic valves. On the large LNG vessel “Yuanhai Oasis,” which has already been delivered, the proportion of domestically produced cryogenic valves manufactured by Hudong Valve exceeded 86% for the first time. Looking back over the entire year, Hudong Valve’s total deliveries of cryogenic valve products for marine applications increased by 35% year-on-year, marking a new breakthrough in the practical application of domestically produced equipment. This further underscores the company’s pivotal role as a flagship product driving the localization of core equipment in China’s LNG vessel industry chain.

Hudong Valve has successively been awarded the national-level “Little Giant” title for specialized, sophisticated, and new enterprises and has been successfully included in the first batch of Shanghai’s Manufacturing Single-Champion Enterprises List, emerging as an invisible champion in the field of ultra-low-temperature marine valves. While filling domestic gaps in related fields, Hudong Valve has also actively participated in drafting various domestic and international standards for these products, demonstrating a development trajectory that has shifted from “following” to “running alongside.”
