On June 19th afternoon, the 2025 Work Conference of China (Changxing Island) LNG Ship Industry Alliance was held at Changxing Marine Science and Technology Port. Cai Xiaofei, the dedicated vice director of Shanghai Changxing Island Management Committee, and Xu Huiquan, deputy mayor of Chongming District, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Song Wei, chief engineer of Hudong-Zhonghua, the chairman unit of the alliance, and Lin Qingshan, deputy general manager of Jiangnan Shipbuilding, the chain main enterprise of the alliance, respectively gave their addresses. Shen Yilin, general manager of Hudong Valves, attended the meeting on behalf of the company and received the plaque as one of the first 33 member units of the alliance.

At the meeting, Xu Wei, representing the Secretariat of the Alliance, delivered the 2025 work report on China (Changxing Island) LNG Ship Industry Alliance titled 'Innovation Leadership, Alliance Synergy, Full Efforts to Enhance World-Class Competitiveness of the LNG Ship Industry Chain.' The report systematically reviewed the various aspects of work and outstanding achievements of the Alliance over nearly a year since its establishment. It proposed establishing a linkage mechanism involving 'chain leader units, research institutes, and supporting enterprises,' centered around overcoming domestic technology bottlenecks and enhancing diversified collaborative efficiency. This would create a resource-sharing, complementary industrial ecosystem, making the China (Changxing Island) LNG Ship Industry Alliance a crucial force driving China's historic leap from a shipbuilding powerhouse to a shipbuilding superpower.
Xu Huiquan, representing the Chongming District Government, congratulated the convening of the 2025 Alliance Work Conference and expressed expectations for the future development of the alliance and its member units: first, continue to deeply focus on the value top end of the LNG ship industry chain, accelerate innovation in cutting-edge fields, break through more 'chokepoint' key technologies, and continuously enhance the core competitiveness of niche maritime industries; second, continue to strengthen the alliance's traction and aggregation functions, attract more top research institutions, key supporting enterprises, and high-end professional talents to settle in Changxing, and build a complete industrial chain ecosystem; third, continue to play the role of the alliance as a communication bridge, achieve integrated development of industry-university-research-use, jointly participate in international cooperation and exchanges, and help high-quality maritime enterprises gain greater initiative in international competition. He stated that Chongming District will always warmly welcome chain enterprises and high-quality projects to settle in Changxing with the greatest sincerity, the best policies, and the best services.
Cai Xiaofei pointed out at the meeting that after nearly a year of development, the China (Changxing Island) LNG Ship Industry Alliance has seen 52 member units join, including leading companies, enterprises along the industrial chain, research institutions, shipowners, and industry organizations. These members are significant representatives in various segments of China's LNG ship industry, carrying substantial weight and great responsibility. Looking towards the future and facing international competition, the alliance aims to enhance the competitiveness and innovation level of Changxing Island's LNG ship industry by regularly organizing high-quality activities. It also seeks to establish a collaborative and mutually empowering alliance family through communication and cooperation. Additionally, it strives to build an efficient, safe, autonomous, and controllable industrial chain system by strengthening its sense of responsibility. He hopes that all member units can work together from a global and strategic perspective to promote the construction of the alliance and actively participate in its various activities. At the same time, relying on the alliance, they can seize opportunities for their own continuous growth, achieving a win-win situation.
Under the witness of all attendees, the China (Changxing Island) LNG Ship Industry Alliance APP, named 'LNG Ship Chain Drives the Future,' was officially launched at the meeting. 'LNG Ship Chain Drives the Future' will help member units promptly understand and obtain the latest information, serving as an important bridge for information sharing and communication among alliance members. It will continuously broadcast the strong voice of Changxing Island's LNG ship industry development both within and outside the alliance.
In the future, the China (Changxing Island) LNG Ship Industry Alliance will use this conference as a new starting point to continuously improve the industrial chain, attract more high-quality enterprises and industry institutions to join the alliance, and further enhance the development level of the alliance. The Changxing Enterprise Group will continue to fulfill its duties and mission as the Secretary-General unit of the alliance, providing quality services, organizing excellent activities, and continuously enhancing interconnection and cooperation among alliance members. Together, they will gather tremendous collective strength to promote the high-quality development of China's LNG ship industry.
Officials from relevant departments such as the Industry Division of the Changxing Island Administration Committee, the Economic Commission, Science and Technology Commission, and State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Chongming District attended the meeting.
