On June 28th, the 5th ship of the 13000 TEU dual fuel container ship series, "Dafeibeilun", built for the French Dafei Group, was named and delivered at the company's western Changxing Island plant. So far, the company has delivered a total of 12 ships in the first half of this year, completing 60% of the annual plan. After exceeding the annual business undertaking task on June 14th this year, the company has also achieved the goal of completing more than half of the ship delivery task ahead of schedule.
Since the beginning of this year, the company has made remarkable progress in production and operation. In terms of operation, on April 29th, 18 orders for the world's largest 271000 cubic meters of ultra large LNG transport ships were successfully signed, stunning the world. On June 14th, four contracts were signed for the construction of 14000 TEU methanol fuel reserved large container ships, enriching the "green family tree" of large container ships. In terms of production, the company has broken the global record for the fastest 4.5 day trial voyage of a large LNG transport ship, achieving a new domestic record for delivering two large LNG transport ships in a single month. All cadres and employees worked hard, delivering the best results for production and operation in the first half of 2024 with their outstanding performance of repeatedly setting records, while also laying a solid foundation for achieving the annual production and operation goals.
Li Yujing, the godmother of the new ship, named the "Dafei Bellen" by cutting ribbons. Liu Xuedong, the deputy general manager of Changxing Shipbuilding, and Tao Jing, the chief human resources officer of Dafei China, delivered speeches. Ma Xiu, the manager of Dafei Shipbuilding's new shipbuilding department in China, Goran, the on-site project manager, Wu Yun, the head of the crew department of Shanghai Dafei International Ship Management Co., Ltd., Fan Kerui, the manager of the new shipbuilding department of French Classification Society in China, Zhang Dalei, the general manager of China Shipbuilding Trade Shipbuilding Business Department II, the captain of the new ship, crew and other leaders and guests attended the event. 13000 TEU Dual Fuel Power Large Container Ship
Dafeibeilun
The DaFei BeiLun has a total length of 336 meters, a width of 51 meters, a depth of 26.8 meters, a designed service speed of 21 knots, and a maximum capacity of 13200 standard containers. The ship adopts an LNG dual fuel power system, equipped with a 14000 cubic meter Mark III liquid cargo enclosure system in the LNG cargo hold, equipped with the world's advanced Chinese shipbuilding group's independent brand CMD-WinGD9X9DF-2.0 main engine, and equipped with the global new generation intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation (ICER) system, which can reduce methane escape in gas mode by 50% and greenhouse gas emissions by more than 28%.
The Dafeibeilun has installed a huge wind guide plate at the bow of the ship, which can save 2% -4% fuel consumption in actual operation; Installing energy-saving diversion devices at the stern can improve the propulsion efficiency of the propeller, reduce energy consumption by about 1.5%, and significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Due to its flexible container loading, leading technology, energy conservation and environmental protection, it is known as the latest generation, latest green and environmentally friendly, efficient and energy-saving container ship in the world.
During the construction of the ship, the project team deeply summarized the experience of building a series of ships, established a work orientation of "speaking with numbers and testing with results", and promoted efficiency improvement through lean management. The ship achieved an additional 48 hours of compression in the submission of generators and main engines compared to the previous ship, and only 35 days of mooring testing at the dock. It was the first time to achieve excellent results in delivering large container ships in just two weeks after the trial voyage. The dock cycle was further reduced by 25 days compared to the previous ship, continuously breaking the record for the shortest critical construction period of the 13000TEU series container ships.
