Good News! The company has secured another 3+3 large LNG vessel construction order

On January 30, Hudong Zhonghua, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Co., Ltd., successfully signed the first batch of contracts—covering 3+3 large 174,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers—with Malaysia International Shipping Corporation (MISC). The charterer for these vessels is Petronas, Malaysia’s national oil company. Within just nine days, Hudong Zhonghua has consecutively won several heavyweight LNG vessel orders, once again demonstrating its robust international competitiveness and industry recognition as a global leader in LNG vessel construction.

The 174,000 cubic meter LNG carrier signed this time is a star ship type of the fifth-generation "Changheng Series" independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua. It embodies the full chain of independent innovation achievements and is equipped with multiple core low-carbon and energy-saving technologies. Its daily carbon emissions during navigation can be reduced by more than 10 tons, and its energy efficiency index (EEDI) has reached the international leading level, deeply aligning with the global trend of low-carbon transformation in shipping. Adopting the world's most advanced NO96 Super+ type containment system, it has the best cargo evaporation rate (BOR) performance and the significant advantages of strong cargo carrying capacity, low comprehensive energy consumption and high operational reliability. It has comprehensively reached the world's leading level in key core indicators such as energy efficiency, environmental protection and cargo storage, and has become the preferred ship type in the global LNG carrier market. With the successful completion of the MISC large order, the total global order volume of this LNG carrier has continuously set new records, further enhancing the reputation and influence of this vessel type in the global market and highlighting the core competitiveness of China's independently developed vessel types.
