On the morning of December 18th, the 174000 cubic meter large liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport ship "Green Energy Pearl" independently designed and built by the company was named and delivered 8 months ahead of schedule. This is the 8th LNG ship delivered by the company this year, once again breaking the new record for annual LNG ship delivery by Chinese shipping companies. The company has delivered 21 ships, undertaken 51 ships, and delivered 3 LNG ships in excess, achieving the dual growth goal of efficiency and benefits in 2024 and entering 2025 two weeks ahead of schedule.

The "Green Energy Pearl" has a total length of 299 meters, a width of 46.4 meters, and a depth of 26.25 meters. It is classified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the China Classification Society (CCS). It is the sister ship of the world's first fifth generation "Changheng series" 174000 cubic meter large LNG transport ship "Green Energy Ying", which was completed and delivered in May this year. It is also the second ship of China's largest LNG transport ship construction project to date - the "China National Offshore Oil Corporation Medium - and Long Term FOB Resource Supporting LNG Transport Ship Project".

The ship is equipped with the latest intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation (iCER) system technology, the Chinese ship WinGD 5X72DF2.1 dual fuel main engine, which has good fast performance, low comprehensive energy consumption, excellent low-temperature performance, wide cabin compatibility, as well as significant highlights such as light weight, strong cargo carrying capacity, skillful operation and maintenance, and high route matching.

The delivery of the "Green Energy Pearl" will further strengthen China National Offshore Oil Corporation's "Green Energy" transport ship family, focus on building a safe, flexible, green, and low-cost Chinese characteristic LNG transport boutique fleet, enhance China's LNG transport autonomy, and strengthen China's bargaining power and international discourse power in the international LNG market. At the same time, it is of great significance to ensure the safety of energy transportation, build a modern industrial system, and effectively enhance the independent and controllable capabilities of China's LNG transportation industry chain.

It is worth mentioning that after the first ship of the project, the "Green Energy Ying", was put into operation, it immediately received the "Green Ship Award" from the Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA).

2024 is an extraordinary and unforgettable year for the company. The company seized market opportunities, leveraged its dominant position in the main product market, consolidated strategic cooperation with global shipping and energy giants, and achieved a new high in the total volume of business undertaken in the two major fields of LNG ships and container ships. The most impressive one among them is undoubtedly the contract to build 24 of the world's largest 271000 cubic meter ultra large LNG ships for Qatar Energy Group, which not only set a record for the highest single new ship order in the world, but also won the first place in the total contract amount and transportation capacity of Qatar Energy's "Hundred Ship Plan", achieving a leading position in competition with the world's strongest competitors in high-end marine equipment.

As a leading enterprise in the construction of large and ultra large container ships, the company is market-oriented, relying on strong research and development capabilities, excellent construction quality, and good market reputation to launch new ship types and undertake new orders, achieving twice the result with half the effort. The company has undertaken a total of 26 large container ship orders of 4 types in 5 batches this year, with a total settlement amount of over 15 billion yuan in RMB, creating the largest domestic ship order settlement amount in RMB and making new contributions to the internationalization of RMB.

In April 2008, the company successfully delivered China's first large LNG ship, "Dapenghao," declaring that the long-standing monopoly of foreign shipping companies had finally been broken, and Chinese shipping companies had taken the "pearl" from the crown of shipbuilding for the first time. After years of hard work, the company has become one of the world's top LNG ship builders, having constructed over 100 LNG storage and transportation equipment and delivered nearly 50 ships. It has set records for the shortest construction of LNG ships, the fastest "two in one" trial voyage, and zero leakage points in the welding of liquid cargo tanks. It has won the reputation of being the "chain leader" of China's offshore LNG industry chain and the "first LNG ship construction plant in China", and is regarded by the industry as a successful example of China's "smart" manufacturing from "Made in China".

Based on the future direction of energy development, accelerate technological innovation and ship iteration. In 2024, the company successively launched four high-end green and environmentally friendly new ship types, increasing the reserve of high-end gas ship products, including LNG ships, to more than 10 types. These new ship types will effectively reduce carbon emissions, significantly improve the operational lifespan of ships, lead low-carbon, digital, intelligent, and green development, and further enhance the competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding companies in the international market.

The "Green Energy Pearl" is the fourth LNG ship delivered by the company in less than four months and the eighth LNG ship of the year, setting a new record for annual delivery of LNG ships in China and accelerating China's shipbuilding industry. As of now, the total amount of orders held by the company has reached 150 billion yuan, and it plans to complete and deliver more than 10 large LNG ships by 2025, creating a new situation of quantified, normalized, standardized, and rhythmic construction of large LNG ships and leading the high-quality development of high-end ship construction in China.
