July 19th, the world's first 14,000-cubic-meter LNG liquefied natural gas carrier, “Huai River Energy Sailing”, a landmark project of “Gasification of the Yangtze River” developed, designed and built by the company, was named and delivered two months in advance.

The "Huaihe River Energy Voyage" vessel
Huaihe Energy Holdings Group is one of the 14 billion ton coal bases and 6 large-scale coal-fired power bases in China. It is the enterprise with the largest coal production capacity and power equity scale in Anhui Province, and an important energy security base in East China and the Yangtze River Delta region. The "Huaihe Energy Voyage" has a total length of 130 meters, a width of 23.6 meters, and a depth of 15 meters, and is classified by the China Classification Society (CCS). The ship adopts a dual fuel powered full turn propulsion system, which can achieve flexible maneuvering in narrow inland waterways, and is equipped with an enhanced intelligent integrated automation system of "intelligent platform+intelligent navigation+intelligent energy efficiency". Its unique shallow draft design not only meets the design requirements of unlimited ocean navigation areas, but also achieves navigability under extreme low water levels in the Yangtze River channel. It can pass through the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge all year round, realizing the dual function of one-stop LNG refueling and transportation from the river to the sea, and can be called the "customized LNG refueling and transportation ship for the Yangtze River".
As a demonstration equipment for the implementation of the "Gasification of the Yangtze River" strategy and the "Dual Carbon" target, as well as a supporting demonstration project for domestic LNG industry chain equipment, the development of the "Huaihe Energy Launch" has received high attention from relevant national departments. The company and Huaihe Energy Holdings Group bravely shoulder the responsibility of being the "chain leader" of the LNG industry chain, collaborate with dozens of domestic enterprises to carry out intelligent research and development, and promote independent research and development of key equipment.

The localization rate has exceeded 85%, setting a new high
The ship is equipped with a B-type LNG containment system independently developed by the company and authorized by national patents. This is the first time that the system has been applied in engineering on a domestic LNG transport ship, marking a significant breakthrough in China's development and ownership of fully independent intellectual property rights for the B-type LNG containment system. The core equipment of the ship's liquid cargo system, the LNG cryogenic re liquefaction device, independently developed by the 711 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Group, has undergone three years of technological breakthroughs. It has broken through multiple key technologies such as dynamic simulation of cryogenic processes, magnetic levitation bearing control, high-power density high-speed permanent magnet motor design, and efficient fluid machinery design. It has successfully developed a high-power magnetic levitation compression/expansion unit, achieving efficient and large cooling output of minus 175 ℃.
The ultra-low temperature valves used in the core low-temperature liquid cargo system of the ship are independently developed and produced by Shanghai Hudong Shipbuilding Valve Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the company. In recent years, the company has been fully committed to promoting the domestic research and production of a full range of ultra-low temperature valve products, and significant achievements have been made in various aspects. On the ship, the company's independently produced products such as ultra-low temperature globe valves, ultra-low temperature ball valves, and ultra-low temperature butterfly valves have been applied in bulk on board, and the proportion of domestically produced ultra-low temperature valves on the entire ship has exceeded 90% for the first time, creating a historical high and highlighting the company's strong support for the localization of core equipment in the LNG industry chain.
Meanwhile, thanks to the improvement of intelligent manufacturing level and the increase in localization matching rate, the company has controlled the construction cycle within 16 months. A series of domestically produced new equipment have been validated in practical use, with all data fully meeting the design requirements. The high-quality construction has received high praise from ship owners.
The Yangtze River is the main artery of China's east-west water transportation, with an annual carrying capacity of over 3 billion tons, accounting for more than 60% of the country's total inland waterway transportation. For a long time, the Yangtze River water transportation has relied on diesel and heavy oil as power fuels for ships, and environmental pollution problems have become increasingly prominent. The completion of the "Huaihe Energy Voyage" vessel is of great significance for implementing the "Gasification of the Yangtze River" strategy, promoting the refueling of LNG powered ships in the Yangtze River Basin, and opening up inland LNG ship transportation channels. With the continuous promotion of China's "dual carbon strategy" and the operation of the "Huai River Energy Voyage", the small LNG ship market will also receive increasing attention, further accelerating the transformation of various transport ships in the Yangtze River Basin to LNG power. The goal of reducing comprehensive pollution emissions from waterway transportation in the Yangtze River Basin by 70% is expected to be accelerated, contributing greater strength to promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
